EYE Held a Workshop to Review a Youth Situation Analysis & Service Mapping for Cambodian Youth

In April 2014, Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE), a projectimplemented by KAPE and funded by Save the Children, held a workshop on reviewinga recently completed Youth Situation Analysis Report and Service Mapping at 7Makara Hotel in Kampong Cham. The workshop aimed to preview and disseminate theresearch results as well as allowing stakeholders to provide feedback to KAPEon how to improve both reports before official adoption by the project.

 

 

 

 

<p style="" margin-top:6.0pt"="">EYE is a new projectthat aims to socially and economically empower in and out of school ruralchildren and youth, especially girls, aged 12-24 years in 4 rural communes,comprising 77 villages, in Ou Reang Ov district in Kampong Cham Province. Thesechildren and youth need life skills development and employability relatedskills, information and knowledge on labour market and opportunities andoptions for vocational and technical training, gainful employment or livelihooddevelopment.

 

EYE focuses onfour main sectors including Primary Education, Secondary Education, Non-Formal Education,and Vocational Training. It seeks to promote transition to secondary school, promotemore relevant education, empower out-of-school youth, and enable Labor ForceIntegration.

 

Stakeholdersfrom local government, the private sector, civil society, and youth groups wereinvited to attend the workshop to discuss and give creative feedback to improveservices for Cambodian youth especially the life skills programming, which ismost important for lower secondary and high school students.

 

EYE is implementedjointly with Phnom Srei Organization for Development (PSOD) and Save theChildren with funding support from DANIDA.
