Workshop on Life Skills – Bracelets and Handmade Bags
Date : 2013-03-28On 25-26 March 2013 Aflateen held a workshop for 25 teachers and students from 7 targets schools on producing and selling handmade bracelets and bags from recycled materials. It is hoped that the schools will set up small enterprises to raise funds for the Aflateen saving scheme.
Lin, a grade 8 student, said that she was very happy that she had learned how to make bracelets and bags. “I can make money whilst I am studying at school by selling my bracelets and bags. After this workshop, I will teach other friends to make the bracelets and bags,”
San Sokneang, the public teacher from Suong district, said the workshop was very useful and she liked the idea of using recycled materials. She said she would teach her new skills to her students.
