School Drop-out Prevention Pilot (SDPP) provincial teams conducted training on Early Warning System (EWS) for 931 Parent-Teacher Association members in the six provinces in January 2014.~ The training focused on effective communication and facilitation skills, planning and how to effectively reinforce and implement the EWS intervention in the community. The facilitators used different approaches such as Power Point presentations, brainstorming ideas from the participants, role play, small group discussions and presentation of discussion results by each group to allow participation and help understanding.

School directors and PTA members discussed their plan for hosting community awareness meetings during the school year. This year, the community members seemed to understand much more about SDPP and they spoke about the home visits they had made to at-risk students in their community to provide advice which had resulted in students going back school. To reinforce their skills, SDPP program and provincial teams observed PTA members/school directors hosting community meetings in each target school and provided feedback.
