Donor visit in Mondulkiri

The visits aimed to gain an understanding of the priorities of key stakeholders and discuss whether the project was on track to address these priorities, to identify through discussions with stakeholders and staff the potential barriers to the success of the project, and to open discussions between KAPE and LOI regarding the future extension funding to Phnong Education Initiative (PEI) project.

>On 30thApril, the visit continued to meet all 20 Phnong teacher trainee scholars in Steung Treng province. 80% of all trainees will graduate their study in July2014 and they will become professional teachers in the short future. One of the girl scholars really drew our donor’s attention on her case relating to her father forced her to stop learning instead of doing housework. Her mother was died when she was 5. Her father said he did not have money to give her daughter to go to school. Her relatives and neighbors gave little money to her to go to school when she was primary until high school. Her hope to be educated person became true, she received scholarship assistance from KAPE to study at provincial teacher training. She is now in year 1.


Finally, the whole visit completely finished.Lotus Outreach International conducted reflection to the project staff and to discuss the future funding proposal after its five years implementing. PEI project will send the extension proposal by August this year.
