HWPL, KAPE Peace Education Workshop, Project MoU Signing Ceremony

On 29 January 2024, KAPE hosted its signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (Project MoU Signing) with HWPL under the presidency H.E. Vorng Phirun, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport at Preak Leap high school-New Generation School Auditorium in order to create an opportunity to showcase the features, benefits, and implementation plan to nurture children to become peace-oriented citizens with the ability to pursue peace, achieved by assigning local teachers to integrate HWPL peace Education into their classes. This has been to promote peace initiatives, raise funds, and encourage active participation from the local community through the charity bazaar.

 

There were approximately 148 participants who were from Prek Onhchanh high school-New Generation School, Preah Sisowath high school-New Generation School ant Prek Leap high school-New Generation School attending the ceremony to learn and understand the main topics of peace education shared by HWPL.

 

"I would like to express my support for the collaboration between KAPE and HWPL Peace Education of South Korea and the joint efforts of the two organizations through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and outlining how education can play an important role in reaching peace. Peace is very precious. "We can sit here because it depends on we have peace," said His Excellency Vong Phirun, Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

 

"HWPL will continue to work for peace to ensure sustainable peace education, and we look forward to meeting HWPL when the other programs succeeded," said Jaymie Lee, Chief Branch Manager at Global 12 branches.

 

The youths from three NGS schools were very eager to learn how to live together with peace. PEACE could be bringing us everything. The main inspirational message of the signing ceremony of both KAPE and HWPL stated that “We are one!” Even though we were born in different races and traditions, we are human with the same spirits, excitement, pains and ideas.

 

"KAPE will work hard to expand the implementation of the above programs in the target schools as well as in the quality education system in Cambodia and contribute to the development of the youth continue to take turns and declare the beginning of peace education cooperation in Cambodia through the signing of a memorandum of understanding for Peace Education. In addition, attending this HWPL peace education today, the participants will experience how peace education can be implemented in their respective schools/classrooms. They feel that it is full of the energy of education for the Cambodian youth future,” said Mr. Sao Vanna, KAPE’s Executive Director.
